We’re glad to hear the announcement of a review of the Fair Deal Nursing Home scheme, which we hope will result in a greater availability of Home Care Packages, with better training for assessment staff and consistency and equal access to services for all.

Calling on Dublin ladies to take part in the mini marathon, alongside Natalie Cox from “Operation Transformation”, on June 4th. The deadline is fast approaching for registration for The Flora Women’s Mini Marathon, the biggest all-women’s event of its kind in the world.

We welcome the recommendations by the Seanad Committee to increase the rights of older people in Ireland. As the Committee Chairman points out, in the next three decades, the number of people in Ireland over 65 is expected to double.

ALONE volunteers are available to visit your group, service, business or community to give a presentation on our work and the issues which are important for our service users.

The ALONE Complimentary News Bulletin 10th Anniversary Special contains remarkable coverage of highlights in ALONE history from 1977 to 1987 including some of the writings of Willie Bermingham.

‘Search That Building’ was the name given to a street campaign launched by a small number of ALONE volunteers in May 1978.

The ALONE Complimentary News Bulletin was a regular update on the activity of the organisation and a call to the public to look out for their older neighbours.

ALONE have developed a leaflet to provide some basic tips on safety and security for you and your property.
