Project Officer – Services Specialist

Role Overview

This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity be part of the team that is tasked with developing ALONE services in the area of Housing with Support and technology in order enhance the services and positively influence the lives of many older people in Ireland.

This is a new role and will involve working as part of ALONE Innovation and Enterprise functions whose purpose is to deliver on innovation that will provide great choice to older people and system enhancements for the benefit of all our stakeholders, particularly in the area of Housing with Supports (HwS) and Technology.

ALONE has an established model of service delivered through its national network of Support Coordinators. This role will be to work as the ALONE Service model specialist within the Innovation and Enterprise project team and provide input to the development of the Housing with Support (HwS) and Technology Solutions.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary project team focused on the future of ALONE services and collaborate with other departments and service managers to ensure project deliverables are met.

Background

 ALONE support older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country. We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard

 Responsibilities

• Act as a Champion to advance the quality of services to Older people throughout Ireland
• Act as the Subject Matter Specialist in the Development team on the ALONE model of services and out services processes.
• Develop and engage with colleagues and the project team members to deliver appropriate solutions to meet the functions project objection
• Advocate for the needs of Older People across a range of health, social care and welfare services.
• Build strong referral relationships with statutory and non-statutory agencies where relevant to the projects.
• Adhere to all policy and procedures outlined in ALONE’s Quality management systems
• Help meet the targets and goals per our strategy
• Provide regular, consistent & comprehensive reporting regarding developments, gaps or blocks to your team.
• You may be required to undertake additional duties or tasks as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Candidates must demonstrate a keen interest in working with older people and be committed to ALONE’s mission.
• Self-motivated person who is committed to ALONE’s mission is essential.
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to engage with and implement change
• High level communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to network and negotiate effectively with individuals, groups and stakeholders, is essential.

• Candidates with a Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in relevant areas of community, social care or related fields, is desirable but not essential.
• Candidates with experience in project management or having previously worked on project team desirable but not essential.
• Good computer literacy, with experience of using case management systems is desirable.
• Excellent organisational skills, report writing, solution focused skills and multi-tasking skills are desirable.
• A passion for providing a high quality of work product and attention to detail

Further Details.

• This role is 35 hours per week
• This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
• Core hours are generally Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00
• Travel and remote working may be required with this role
• Induction and training will be carried out on commencement in role.
• The salary scale offered for this position is €27,000 to €34,000, depending on experience.
