Get your company involved
There are many ways your corporate can help charities like ALONE. Whether you’re a local retail shop or a large pharmaceutical company, we have various options to volunteer, donate or fundraise with your colleagues.
Many companies want to engage in Corporate Social Responsibility but haven’t found the activity that best suits their employees. Please see our many options below and contact us at [email protected] for more information. If you would like to fundraise online for ALONE, sign up and start with our JustGiving page below.
Many organisations have a charity committee or allow their staff to put forward charities they wouldlike to partner with. We work with our charity partners to ensure that staff and company get involved with ongoing developments like advocacy, technology, volunteering and events. Our communications and fundraising departments work alongside your company to ensure all your needs are met. If you would like a staff member to provide a talk to your employees, this can also be arranged.
It’s great to see employees getting together to fundraise in aid of charity. Throughout the year we encourage employees to organise bake sales, coffee mornings, quizzes, raffles and sponsored sleep-ins for ALONE. We would love to hear any additional ideas you might have to fundraise!
If you are interested in doing a corporate fundraiser, please contact us at [email protected]. We will send you an event proposal for more information and support you throughout your event. We can provide online advertising, posters, buckets, money boxes, t-shirts and an ALONE representative on the day.
Payroll-giving or matching donations
Payroll-giving is a simple and effective way for employees to make regular payments to a charity directly from their salary. Match-giving is also a very impactful initiative. This is when a corporate commits to donating a certain amount because their employees donate/volunteer/fundraise for ALONE.
Want to give to a charity but also want your staff to see the impact they are making? Organising a social event for ALONE older people is a great way to support people in your local area.
ALONE have more than 1,500 older people receiving our Befriending Service and over 100 tenants. Throughout the year we try to run small localised events for everyone we support. With your help we can reach more people who need our support.
Many social events include coffee morning, lunches, karaoke and board games held in your office or at a local community centre.
For more information, see our Corporate Social Events document here.
ALONE have more than 50 staff members working in technology, finance, fundraising, communications, social care, volunteer support and housing.
It is important for our staff to continue to improve their skills so that they can provide the best service for the older people we support. If your company can provide training in an area that would enhance our skills, we would love to hear from you!
Benefit in kind
As a charity, we aim to keep our costs low and services of a high quality. Donating supplies such as IT equipment, supplies for our houses or gifts for raffles can hugely help lower our costs.
Volunteering at our housing units can be a great day out for employees to meet some of the older people we support. We hold maintenance days all year round, although 2019 is currently booked out. For more information, please see our Maintenance Day booklet here.
