GLENVEAGH STAFF VOLUNTEER AT ALONE HOUSING FACILITY
Friday 25th March, 2022: Glenveagh employees spent the morning in Dublin city centre, volunteering at charity partner, ALONE’s Housing Facility as part of a Maintenance Volunteering Day. 18 Glenveagh staff volunteered on the day, helping with tasks such as painting, gardening, and general maintenance. This charity day was part of a wider charity work which has seen Glenveagh employees raise €18,701 in fundraising efforts over the past year.
In addition to fundraising support, Glenveagh work with the ALONE team to share industry experience around housing and support several employee volunteers programmes throughout the year.
Glenveagh recognise the importance of community engagement in the areas where they have developments, and a key pillar of the business is to commit to adding value to those communities and those living within them.
Speaking about the Maintenance Volunteering Day, Stephen Garvey CEO of Glenveagh said “We at Glenveagh understand the importance of community and the past two years have highlighted our dependence on our locality more than ever before. ALONE does incredible work with the older members of communities across Ireland, allowing them to enjoy their home life, while feeling safe and secure. We are proud of our partnership with ALONE and feel privileged to be able to help out at the Maintenance Day in Dublin today.”
Speaking about the partnership, ALONE CEO Séan Moynihan said, “We are grateful to the Glenveagh staff for their help and hard work today and over the past year of our partnership. It is wonderful to see Glenveagh give back to the areas in which they operate and help to build inclusive and sustainable living spaces for all members of the community.”
Glenveagh and ALONE share an ethos of creating sustainable communities for all cohorts of the population, adding value to the lives of residents and those in the wider community and undertaking activity at local level to support those who need it most.
Independent business, Topline Clearys, based in Kilcock, Co. Kildare, kindly supplied the volunteers with equipment and supplies for the Volunteering Day.
