ALONE Annual Report 2024 – Transforming Ageing at Home Together
In 2024, ALONE supported nearly 44,000 older people across Ireland, providing vital services to help them live independently and with dignity. Through a network of over 9,000 volunteers, ALONE delivered companionship, support coordination, housing assistance, and over 322,000 befriending calls and visits, tackling loneliness and addressing challenges in health, housing, and financial wellbeing.
Reflecting on the year, Chairperson Eimear Cahalin said:
“2024 was the final year of our strategic plan, and despite major challenges, we are proud to have delivered strong results. With over 43,000 older people supported and 174 smaller organisations strengthened through training and resources, ALONE has proven that working together transforms lives.”
CEO Seán Moynihan added:
“The ALONE model, ten years in the making, is now a piece of social infrastructure. It enabled us to deliver supports nationwide, ensuring older people can age at home. As demand grows, we remain ambitious—continuing to innovate, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for older people’s needs.”
