ALONE ECC Report Q3 2025
ALONE’s Quarter 3 (Q3) 2025 Enhanced Community Care (ECC) report highlights continued growth, strengthened partnerships, and measurable impact on the lives of older people nationwide. This marks the organisation’s fourth year under the HSE’s ECC programme, supporting older adults to age at home with dignity and independence.
In Q3 2025, ALONE has supported 41,509 older people across services year-to-date. ALONE has also newly supported 4,479 older people, a 6% increase from the previous quarter, and delivered 13,825 new interventions, averaging 3.3 interventions per person.
Key findings from Q3 2025 include:
- Physical health support needs remained the most common issue across regions, followed by loneliness and mobility challenges. Social prescribing needs increased across regions reflecting a growing demand for practical, non-medical support within local communities.
- Housing support needs were prominent in the West & North West and Dublin & North East regions, mainly relating to home adaptations and repairs to ensure safe, independent living.
- Loneliness continued to be a significant concern, with increased demand for Visitation Support and Befriending services.
- Volunteers provided critical support, with 9,257 individuals contributing over 66,000 hours, supporting visits, befriending calls, and wellbeing check-ins.
- External engagement remained strong, with 71% of referrals coming from agencies including hospitals and community care professionals. Nearly half (47%) of interventions involved strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, charities, and community-based organisations.
- ALONE continued to influence policy and community practice to support older people’s needs through six national policy consultations, Community Impact Network training sessions and events, continued launch of the Housing with Support program, and a pilot Wellbeing Service.
