Support and befriending is one the most important services that ALONE offers. It has proven to be an effective health intervention to combat the negative effects of loneliness. This document is an information leaflet about the Befriending Network Ireland (BNI), formerly hosted by ALONE. The network was established in 2015 along with a national advisory group. It aimed to promote the work of befriending and support befriending groups in providing quality services to older and vulnerable individuals to alleviate social isolation and loneliness.
