ALONE was founded by volunteers and volunteerism remains essential to the organisation. Volunteers at ALONE are provided with face to face and remote volunteering opportunities, and they work closely with staff in various support services. Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. It is owned by the lead volunteer development agencies, the UK Volunteering Forum (UKVF). This document is a certificate awarded to ALONE for Investing in Volunteers, issued in May 2023. ALONE benefits from the IiV mark by receiving mentoring services, minimising risk, enhancing volunteers experience and increasing their motivation, while also strengthen the organisation’s reputation and encouraging more people to volunteer. The quality mark demonstrates that ALONE has met the standards in the management and involvement of their volunteers by providing them an outstanding experience working with the organisation. Achieving the standards shows current and future volunteers how much they are valued and gives them confidence to engage with ALONE. This certificate is valid until May 2026.
