Support and befriending is key among the supports ALONE offers. Through regular calls and in person home visits, support and befriending helps alleviating feelings of loneliness in older people and decrease social isolation. The Befriending Networks provide support, training, guidance and accreditations to befriending projects across the UK and other countries. This certification issued by the Befriending Networks represents a Quality Mark in Befriending Excellence. This demonstrates that ALONE has met the required standards for excellent practice in support and befriending. Standard indicators measure the quality of the service, policies, procedures, the staff and monitoring and evaluation, as well as the Befriendee – Befriender Journeys and the matching and ending processes. This certificate is valid until March 2025.
