What is Attend Anywhere?

Attend Anywhere is a web-based system that enables healthcare providers to hold video consultations with patients.

As part of our work with the HSE’s Enhance Community Care Telehealth programme, we have included Attend Anywhere guides and videos below to help older people get comfortable using virtual healthcare appointments. As more services move online, we want to make sure older people can use these tools with confidence.

Video consultations have benefits for both staff and service users including:

  • More options and easier access to care
  • Less travel time
  • Better patient flow through services

The platform supports:

  • Individual consultations – ideal for one-to-one sessions
  • Consult now – instantly launch a video call by sending a time-limited link, useful for urgent or unplanned interactions
  • Group consultations – enable multidisciplinary team meetings or educational sessions in one secure call

Theme 1: General Platform Information

What devices can I use for Attend Anywhere?

Both iOS and Android devices are compatible with Attend Anywhere. Attend Anywhere can be accessed through phones, tablets, laptops and PCs (devices must be up to date). 

Can I access my video appointment via Attend Anywhere from outside of Ireland? (e.g. while on holidays)

Yes, as the platform is cloud based, it can be accessed from any location, once there is a sufficient internet connection. 

Can I use Attend Anywhere if I have issues with my sight/hearing?

Yes, users can zoom into text from their device appearing on screen to increase the size. 

Do I need to create an account?

No, there is no need to create an account to use Attend Anywhere.

How do I join my video consultation?
  • Click the link sent by your clinician via text or email 
  • Enter your full name, phone number, and date of birth 
  • Wait to be admitted by your clinician 
Can I test my setup before the appointment?

Yes. Visit https://attenduk.vc/testcall to make a test call. 

What if I didn’t receive the link?

Contact your clinician directly to request the link again. 

What if I have technical issues during the call?

Your clinician will understand and may switch to a phone call if needed. 

Theme 3: Troubleshooting and Support 

What should I do if I am experiencing issues with the Attend Anywhere platform?
  • Contact your clinician. They will understand and may switch to a phone call if needed
  • If you are experiencing problems with sound or video during their appointment, click the reload button in your browser window 
What should I do if I am experiencing connectivity issues?
  • Attend Anywhere is dependent upon a low level of internet access.
  • Attend Anywhere uses the same amount of internet data as things like Zoom or WhatsApp calls.
  • If using Wi-Fi, move closer to the internet modem or router. Ideally, you would be able to see it from your device.
  • If using mobile broadband, choose an area with good reception. This may require you to test which room in your home has the best connectivity.
  • If you have problems with sound or video during your appointment click the reload button in your browser window
Can a family member or carer help me with Attend Anywhere?

Yes, if the older person consents to family or carer involvement.

Can I use Attend Anywhere if I am living in a very remote area/on an island?

The wider technology networks team have been working with the Island populations to improve their connectivity. The National Broadband project are focused on improving internet access in remote areas across the country, and they are working directly with the Island projects. Attend Anywhere has been used in remote areas in Ireland
